Kiln Formed Glass Classes at Pangur Glass Craft Studio
International Glass Artist Jayne Persico from Pennsylvania, USA is back in Ireland in October 2011 teaching kilnformed glass workshops.
This will be Jaynes 12th successive year here and the event will take place at Lime Tree, Drumroragh, Ballyjamesduff, Co Cavan, where the Pangur
Glass Studio is located.
Jayne has been teaching extensively throughout the USA for over 30 years and first came to Ireland in 2000.
Since then she has regular workshops here every 6 months and also teaches in Norway, Denmark and Germany.

The workshops are very much hands-on and students produce a number of individual pieces to take home. All class materials are included in the course
fees and are readily available from the Pangur Studio. Student numbers are restricted to 6 per workshop ensuring adequate attention for each participant.

FUSING AND FRIT CASTING - 3 Day Workshop
Fee: 240 one day 360 two day 470.00 three day
This three day hands-on course will feature fusing and slumpng a 12 inch sushi plate using stainless steel moulds, frit casting a jewellery box and candle holder using reusable ceramic moulds, making components in frit to tack fuse to projects, making pattern bars and colour development using
frit blender mould. Cold working and fire polishing techniques will also be discussed in the workshop. Making glass link lecklaces in frit.This class is for beginners and intermediate students.

Time: 10am - 5pm
A number of one day Sunday classes in glass fusing for beginners are run during the year. Dates are flexible subject to demand and can be scheduled at short notice. Class size 6 students max. All materials used are included in fees. Class discounts are available to students who purchase our kilns. In this class students will learn about
fusing techniques, glass types, use of kilns and firing temperatures. Each student will have the use of a Skutt table top kiln and will be instructed in
firing their own pieces.
